It was a bit awkward at first, not gonna lie, but I pushed through and ordered a tall iced caramel macchiato. And it did not disappoint! The flavor was great and was surprised that there was no sour aftertaste, very mild.
And now you can’t afford the gas to get home ;p
I was also wondering if any of the breakfast/hot sandwich items were worth getting the next time I go?
Their egg bites aren’t bad imo.
I remember those! I was thinking about getting either the egg bites or the spinach egg wrap but was in a rush.
Spinach egg wrap, impossible breakfast sandwich, and grilled cheese are all amazing
I LOVE the ham and Swiss croissants, super yummy imo
It looks delicious! I’ll be sure to try next time.
This with the blonde roast for me is impeccable!
I like their croissants.
It can definitely be anxiety inducing ordering from a place like that for the first time. There’s a burrito place near me that I still avoid because it’s a lot of pressure to know what I want in advance. Choice is good but it can get paralysing at times.
Iced caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso is my order. Sometimes I ask for light caramel though
Ayyyye welcome to the addiction, friend. :)
Is it Starbucks that was new and awkward, or are you a person who has drive-thru anxiety, and that in and of itself was awkward?
Do you know what you’re going to get next time?
Not sure if OP is like this, but for me, I have a ton of anxiety at counter service places or drive thrus were you don’t get to browse the menu before you’re at the ordering station. If I don’t already know what’s on the menu, I don’t know how people have the guts to sit there and hold up the line while they choose. So I look up what they have before I go so I know what I’ll be ordering. Better yet if they have an online pay and pickup option.
I don’t understand why drive thrus especially don’t have a second menu available before the ordering kiosk that you can browse while you’re in line…especially in places where menu items are more complicated than just a burger and fries.
At a sit down restaurant, there is no pressure for you to immediately order when you come in because it’s expected that you take some time to browse the menu while your server waits on other people. But then you have the awkwardness of interacting with a server so it isn’t necessarily better for anxiety, just a different type of anxiety. Lol!
Is there a social anxiety community on lemmy?
