Just curious how spread out we are. I’m up in West Yorkshire myself.
Edited to add: Hi /all! Please remember this is a UK-based community, just in case you’re confused. But you are of course welcome. :)
(Please remember that anything you post on the Fediverse might stay on other instances forever, even if you delete it from yours. I’d recommend you not get any more specific than county or local authority level.)
Australia. It’s a fair walk.
Suffolk. Detectorists country.
The Detectorists is incredible. It’s my go to comfort watch.
Same. I love that show.
It makes me cry, in a nice way
Me too lol. Like, this is so wholesome and cosy I’m going to cry now.
Canada… This post appeared on my feed on kbin.social 🤷
I am addicted to UK panel shows and comedy though, so there’s a connection?
Favorite panel show?
I love QI and Cats does Countdown. And although it’s not exactly a panel show, I’m a big fan of Taskmaster.
Have you managed to find a shred of info about why the latest season of Cats only did one episode then just… stopped? Whenever I try to google it I can’t seem to find anything about it
I’m also from Canada (Southern Ontario) and love all those shows as well. Be sure to check out The Unbelievable Truth radio show as well. Currently listening through a second time I enjoyed it so much!
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll check it out!
Not OP but 8oo10cdc and wilty.
Oh I love WILTY
Norwich AKA Partridgeshire

Give my regards to Chunky Norwich FC. :)
I’m down here in Devon.
👋 I’m from Torquay originally. Living in Manchester these days, though.
Wyoming … shire.
Hahaha, reading through the comments, I was like, am I in a Brit-only sub.
New Mexistan here.
Edit: Ok, maybe I did end up somewhere I’m not supposed to be. Still don’t understand the Fediverse. 🤦🏻♀️
“Am I in a Brit-only sub?” - yes, welcome
We’re Brit-based not Brit-only 🙂

How on earth did you end up in !UKCasual? Not a criticism or anything, I’m just curious. :)
Usually people ask me how the hell I ended up in Wyoming, which is also a fair question. But, as 1st mentioned, you were on the front page.
Y’all are at the top of all right now on kbin. -coming from the northern territory of King Charles the first (North Carolina)

Woohoo! Hello everyone
Thanks for the info. I said hi to /all. :)
Hi from Oslo, Norway!
@Cevilia Spaniard here enjoying the live in Edinburgh since 2010
Another in Edinburgh. Although I’ve been here for (checks notes) 33 years. Yikes.
One more from Edinburgh, originally Dunfermline.
Username checks out.
Technically I was born a Geordie, raised a Fifer. So I know Dunfermline (or at least the Dunfermline of the 80s) well.
Ah, the Leishman years. Happy times :-)
North Ayrshire.
Hertfordshire, in the Chilterns
Home counties represent!
Snorbins checking in.
Prynhawn Da from South Wales 👋
I’m ashamed to say the only words I know in Welsh are “Bore da” and I’m not entirely sure how to spell them. Thanks for reminding me that I should learn. :)
The only one I know is Gwasanaethau because it means Services and I’ve seen it on the M4 so often
That about covers the extent of my knowledge too tbh, that and “Croeso”. I do plan on learning eventually…
Germany, now living in South East England. Not a fan, to be honest with you. I’ll have to stay a bit longer but I don’t see a future here. Housing, cost of living, healthcare, blatant government corruption (or, as it’s called here, “sleaze”, I don’t know why people aren’t calling it out for what it is), an out-of-control Met, systematic neglect of reports of domestic violence and the regular news of women who had reported it, got ignored and then killed by their abusive partners… The list goes on. I really love this country, the countryside here is stunning (especially in the south in the summer), people are so friendly, I have really enjoyed living here, despite lockdowns and the questionable food. But it’s just too much that’s going wrong to stay here long-term, sadly
A lot of that seems to be a London problem rather than a UK problem, but we’ll not discuss the P word here.
I don’t live in London. What’s the P word?
In UKCasual, discussion of p*litics isn’t allowed.
Ah gotcha. Will refrain from doing so
I thought the Met police looked after London?
Directly above the centre of the Earth.
…take my upvote and get out of here.
Very kind, old bean. btw, West London originally, now tropical north Australia.
How are you enjoying the summer? /joke
In the tropics we only have two seasons, wet and dry. These are basically summer and winter. Winter, the good season, started a month or so ago but we’re still getting summer rain. In short, it’s cold, wet and cloudy so just like home in the UK.
I’m from Canada but moving to London in a month!
Pre-emptive welcome!
In which case, please allow me to pre-emptively welcome you to the UK! I hope you enjoy your time here. :)
I’m up in Wigan - always feels like on the internet everyone is in London or down south!
I’m so sorry to hear you’re in Wigan. Get well soon. /joke
Haha to be honest I actually quite like it, the cost of living is low, I can get to everything I need by walking/cycling/bus/train (don’t drive by choice), so I can’t really complain!
I also lived in York for a little bit and that was really nice, albeit somewhat expensive, so I had to move back.
York is an absolutely lovely place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there. Too crowded for me.
