When I hit “Create” I’ll get the “Loading” swirl and that’s it. As if the site isn’t responding. Is this happening for anyone else, and how do I remedy?

I need to create an Official Low Sodium Destiny community, as I’m one of the head mods of that one on reddit…and it seems someone took the liberty of using the name to start their own here without telling us first.

Oh, that’s unpleasant. In this situation You can either contact the mod of this community to pass admin priviliges, make a community with different name or create a community with the same name but on different instance

Would I have to create a new account for a different instance? I’ve look at others and they don’t give me the option to create.

Im pretty sure that You sadly have to, but im on lemmy since Jun 13 so Im not confident enough to give You any proper advice. Maybe there is a workaround like having someone else to create a community from theirs instance and passing the priviliges to You but Im not sure that It is possible so The best option is to ask people that are more knowledgeable with lemmy

Yes you will need to create an account on the other instance. Many (I would say most?) instances allow open account creation, you may have just been unlucky with the one you looked at.
