I believe most cases of this are just misunderstandings. You cannot edit/delete comments from subs that are private. People are removing all their comments and coming back the next day and seeing lots of comments on their profile. In reality those where never deleted as the sub was private and just reopened.
use redact to overwrite comments with random bullshit or a protest msg
Allegedly they’re reverting/restoring comments.
