This whole thing has become such a mess. It made sense to me to keep RCMP to begin with, but either way, at this point I’d just love for the whole mess to be over one way or the other.
I say if the Hon. Minister has a plan to build an SPS, then it’s his budget too – and then it’s a BCPS instead of an SPS. Last I checked, the metro-cops are pricier anyway if they can’t share resources with the established and required federal presence (and the fed cops were actually making less back then despite much longer training and tougher selection criteria), so there’s little that makes sense about the SPS plan except they haven’t caught Doug faking a limp.
