Two good movies I’ve seen recently are Trench 11 (this one is a real hidden gem and can be streamed for free on Tubi), and Overlord. Both are horror/scifi period pieces set in world war 1 and 2 respectively. I love the mixture of gritty realism and fantastical horror and was wondering if anyone had some other recommendations.

I had a good time with Overlord, haven’t seen Trench 11 so I appreciate that recommendation, and I do enjoy this genre. I’d throw out Frankenstein’s Army, the Outpost movies, and Dead Snow to check out.
I wanna say Troma’s War but it’s more action splatter ridiculousness than actually scares.
Dog Soldiers (2002) comes to mind, as well as Predator (1987).
