I just updated my Steam Deck to the latest stable update patch and now the drawer menus when clicking Steam and the … buttons do not show up. I can hear the drawers opening, but they’re invisible on screen. My view stays on the home view pretty much. I’ve restarted multiple times, but they never come back.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Edit 19:17 ET: I’m able to use the search bar to open my library and the Wifi icon to open settings. They will have to do I guess.
Edit 22:33 ET: Surprisingly, Steam has issued an RMA. Fast response though!
Edit 00:00 ET (June 15, 2023): After a few hours of resetting, factory reset through settings solved the issue, including after an update to the latest version again.
I havent updated yet, but thanks for letting me know, I’ll make sure not to update it for a while.
When was the latest update? I updated yesterday, and everything is fine on my end.
Can you navigate the menus even if you can’t see them? Do they make noise if you try to scroll up and down?
It’s the one from today, June 14. https://www.steamdeck.com/en/news
Navigating also doesn’t work. Pressing the d-pad buttons simply navigates the home page.
Dumb question, but have you tried rebooting again? I’ve had weirdness in some updates that went away after a full restart.
Just restarted again. No dice.
Bummer. Hopefully Valve responds quickly.
Strange - sucks you had to reset.
Just wanted to chime in for those questioning the update. I updated and everything is functioning properly.
I have sent a support request with a video. Hopefully I get a quick response…
Have you installed any UI plug ins or extensions that might have broken with the update?
Nope. No extensions.
