We’re heading down the K&A to Reading. We don’t have time to travel anywhere on the Thames before we have to head back, but vwe were wondering:

Is it worth dipping onto the Thames for a day or so, just “because”? Does the licence seem worth it, just for a few hours to “feel” the Thames?

Not really if you don’t have a licence for it.

Reading is ok. But famous for its lack of pretty. And mooring past reading is mostly charged. Few free spots.

You really need a few days to head north for the best of the Thames. Week is great.

Let me know when you will manage it. I’m on the Coventry atm. But our home mooring is in Oxford on the Thames. And we spend autumn heading one way or the other a d back. So could likely meet you in a pub around that time.

Hi! Thank you for your message. Fair enough, we’ll enjoy Reading on the K&A and save the Thames for another year! :)
