So I know nothing of high powered flashlights. Are they just for fun? Searching? Blinding small children? Has the bright light ever helped or saved you?

Primarily fun, though I could see a lot of use cases in areas like construction and general outdoorsy stuff. Had a friend drooling over my Sofirn SP70, saying it would be perfect for checking on his livestock in the early morning.

      Things like that.

They are mostly for fun and not even the most powerful lights I own. Ever thought to yourself I wonder what that is 1km away well with a K1 you’ll light it up like it’s daytime.

I have only been collecting like a year or so and never had to use my lights in an emergency.

The sbt90.2 is a monster of an led but also costs about $50 extra and eats batteries.the sft70 with boost driver isn’t as bright but will run at full power for hours unfortunately the manufacturer doesn’t offer this combo I had to order it and add the led myself

They are amazing however I do tend to go for my convoy L6 or sofirn sp70 over a K1 just because it’s bigger bulkier and batter suited as a self defence weapon if needs be (not thst I have ever needed to)
