Maybe it’s that life moves on and interests change over time but I only see a handful of names that I recognise on this card. I used to know pretty much everyone on the main card but now… I’m completely apathetic to UFC unless it’s a stacked ppv.
All but the main event are completely unknown to everyone but the deepest hardcore fans who watch every fight of every card. Except for the 3 ranked fighters at the top, its all are prelim guys who would never get on the main card of any good event.
Ufc has been replacing some “old” fighters for new athletes from the DW contender series. On short term, the costs go down and they are able to invest on other stuff (performance institute in Mexico per example) but on the long run, I’m not sure if they will be able to maintain their current ppv quality
