Hey, just fyi, there are different branches of communism. The most popular ones vehemently oppose Russia, China, and North Korea.

u/CommunistLady is part of the delusional few who are pro-China, but please don’t attack communists as a whole because of the loud idiots.

The Communist Party of China has almost 100 million members on its own. that’s practically more communists than there are in the entire western world.

Do not kid yourself that anti-chinese communists are the most common form of communist

      Your outrage is completely misguided.

Say Russia was trying to “exterminate gay people”: it is a capitalist country.

You can’t present the deeds of capitalists as evidence of communist wrongdoing.

…it would great if the tankies could understand that fact to be case in any other context when discussing Russia, but they don’t, so we won’t.

Because it isn’t logical, because it is all a mess. Yet because Russia claims Soviet glory and tankies actively shows the current regime reverence as if Putin was a General Secretary, it is rather hard to actually make a distinction between the current authoritarian regime and the one of the Soviets - the fact of the matter is that Russian political culture whether royalist, communist or capitalist doesn’t change.
