Hi lummy community, i’m one of those who came from reddit. For now i’m still learning the new UI/lemmy philosophy. on reddit there was some sub that i was using a lot like SBCGaming, AYN odin, miyoomini, well you get the kind of stuff, principaly retro handeld stuff. Now that i want to use lummy i was wondering if there community like this already available .
I found one: https://lemmy.ml/c/sbcgaming
That is exactly what I was looking for Thank you, I’m still a mess in all that lemmy and his instances stuff
Don’t worry, if you want there’s browse.feddit.de that tries to index all instances, that’s where I usually search first :)
Thank, so as I understand it is a normal think that I can not find some communities when I am searching from my instance
Yup, a given instance doesn’t track every instance communities, only those subscribed to by its users. This is unintuitive, but to make your instance discover another instance’s community, you just input in your instance’s search the community full URL. You then have to wait a few seconds even when the spinner is done, and the community should appear and you can subscribe from there. :)
Good thanks for your help
I have an account on that instance (the RP3+ in 3D Printed Case Post over there is from me), but I mostly use this account here. Is there a way I can subscribe to c/sbcgaming with this account here? I have no option to subscribe (I am in mobile, using web app).
Yes, you should be able to search for the community full URL on your main instance and it should be available to subscribe :)
Would it be for Raspberry Pi and Arduino type stuff, or any homebuilt SBC (6502/Z80, etc.)? I’d love to see a good community for both, but very interested in the old hardware like the 6502, TMS9918, etc…
More aim towards retro Gaming stuff like retro handheld console like AYN, retroid, Miyoo, anbernic does . It could also be stuff like Raspberry Pi arduino, mini forum mini computer but around retro Gaming and emulator
