        If it was on steam then your one purchase would allow you to play it on both windows and Linux.

        Steam: buy, download, and updates for me. Easier and more convenient than even piracy by design.

        Website: doesn’t integrate with my package manager, doesn’t offer updates, doesn’t provide me any features.

        Why wouldn’t I? The game is going to be DRM free there too, so I can back up my game files in either case.
