This is probably my newest, favorite bourbon. It really packs a punch with how spicy it is. Anyone else try this or have other recommendations?

I’d recommend trying the Larceny small batch of you’re newer to whiskeys. The barrel proof is pretty strong so I think that beginners might be turned off from the overwhelming tastes

Eh, regular larceny isn’t great. I just got a few bottles of C22 and it’s awesome. A beginner can definitely have BP, just might drink hot to them.

Yeah I agree regular Larceny isn’t my personal favorite, it’s too watered down for me. That’s why I really like the barrel proof lol

Larceny is a wheated bourbon, which are usually on the sweeter side. I wonder if part of the spicyness is the proof?

Have you tried adding a splash of water to see if you get less of the spice? I haven’t had it but going by mashbill and proof, Makers Mark Private Selections or Barrel Proof/101 might scratch a similar itch. If you want to go up in price (drastically, in some areas), W. L. Weller Antique 107 is another high proof wheated bourbon.

Yeah you can still taste the sweetness of the bourbon, it just has a little kick to it. I haven’t tried adding a splash of water yet but I’ll try that.

And thanks for the recommendations! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for some of those Maker’s Mark releases
