I miss Minko. I miss the fun, I miss the concept, I miss the room chats… and its cause for shutting down was provably unfair to all of us, as a payout bug was exploited that depleted the funds needed to operate.

I haven’t been able to find the site’s code posted anywhere, but I think I saw a monero dev had made announcements regarding the site.

Right now I’m looking to see who I can contact from the original project, what code is available and can be reused for a new version, and from there look at options to get something built that brings back the fun.

Where can I start? Am I alone in getting excited to bring back Minko? How can it be even better this time?

yes! would be nice to see more of these (fair) chance games. Lottery that does need tor access would be good too.

it was a Monero version of the game Plinko that was “provably fair” by using math on the blockchain. It raised a lot of XMR for the general fund, and you could also win xmr when a xmr trivia bot randomly put you on the spot in the chat.

the coolest users were ones that would use multi-outputs to place several bets at once which made a lot of action, and back then required using the cli wallet with skillz

The trick was to churn multi output to yourself many many times. (to be sure you have enough output to spend)

Then after that you type the command to do multi outputs to Minko, copy it then past & run the commands as many time as possible before a confirmation. Then you make it rain with over 75 bets.

I miss that time, was competing with a friend for who can make it rain the most lol
