Lol🤣, natawa ako sa algebraic notation kasi wala akong alam don(any kinds of math kahit basic like arithmetic wala ko alam gano), then yun agad inassume mo, anyway babaguhin ko na lang dapat kasi may arrows yun kaso excited ako ipost kasi sobrang dali ng kalaban ko may farah pa sa pangalan HAHAHA Dr. Farrah ikaw ba yun? hehe but yung ginamit kong strategy is anti knight strategy natutunan ko siya sa “How to Reassess Your Chess 4th Edition” ni Jeremy Silman book siya para sa mga players na may rating na 1200-2000 very basic lang yung anti-knight strategy basically ang gagawin mo lang doon is iba-block mo yung second possible advancement points ng knights kasi siya madalas ginagamit na weapon ng mga beginners kaya sobrang effective niya sa ratings na 400-2000, anyway a common misconception is that you should be good at math when playing chess is wrong(best example of this is Bobby Fischer) and having also a high iq is not going to help in chess either(Bobby Fischer(who claims female chess players are not good) a genius is defeated by Judith Polgar whose chess journey is complete hardwork, they have both special place in my heart, another fact Wesley So is a Filipino chess player before he migrates to US, sorry for nerding out huhu 😓

We’re all nerds here (for now, I assume), so no worries.

And I was just pulling the words ‘algebraic notation’ up from half-remembered shit I’ve absorbed, so I might be mistaken. I did look it up on wikipedia upon reading your reply though, so at least sure na akong may ganun nga (at hindi ako nauulyanin). But yeah, I guess that just reveals how little I know.

Thank you too for clearing up the misconceptions about chess. I know that math doesn’t help with chess, nor IQ. What is helpful, I think, is the ability to recognize patterns, and to (quickly) choose which strategies are most helpful in the current situation.

I’ll start small muna siguro, play against a computer AI every now and then, while reading up and building up the knowledge to recognize stuff once I play against humans.

If you decide to play against real player though, be aware that some uses AI to cheat and become unbeatable you’ll know one if most of your plans is predicted by opposing side, even Magnus Carlsen can’t win against cheater he can draw a match utmost also I think Ding Liren is now the world champion if I remember correctly

Ah, I see. Thanks for the head’s up.

Parang ang laking problema ata yan sa competitive chess. I remember hearing about the buttplug cheating controversy and laughing about it before reading about it and then almost immediately overthinking the hell about it—like detecting morse code from a buttplug, what about data bandwidth of the ass nerves? how about the lag induced by the decoding step? how about sending data from the user through the buttplug to the supposed accomplice? does one have to do kegels to train for it? All those questions, and more.

Sorry if that previous paragraph is disrespectful about competitive chess. At any rate, I came to the conclusion that there are better ways to cheat at competitive chess than through a buttplug.

I don’t know what buttplug cheating controversy is, but there’s this story on Fischer vs Spassky fight that acuses Fischer of using something radiation shit planted to Spassky’s chair that makes Spassky unable to think clearer and focus, this is for me unscientific I never came across such device even in the internet that alters your concentration, now delving to buttplug cheating controversy tbh this is much more likely to happen than what Spassky accusing Fischer of doing even though its funny since the requirements are only minimal (the chess contender should know morse code, the morse code sender is in same rating as the player contending or an AI, and a buttplug) easy as that HAHAHA maybe Nakamura use it on his fight against Nepomniachtchi since he was coach by Wesley before the fight but what Magnus did is based beyond comprehension HAHAHA if you can’t win destroy their reputation HAHAHAHA

I might be one of those who fell for those tactics (destroying someone’s reputation) but yeah, comparing radiation shit and buttplugs, buttplugs win. Vibrating buttplugs are a thing, vibrators that connect via bluetooth to vibrate in time to music is a thing, thus, it’s easy to make the jump to vibrating buttplugs that connect to the internet for communications purposes.

Sorry kung nalihis ko yung usapan natin, but that’s probably the only competitive chess controversy I’ve ever heard, and if it were not for the bawdy exaggeration (the buttplug thing supposedly came from /r/anarchychess) it might not have ever reached my ears, and many others.
