When I want the ice cream to melt faster I just put the spoon under a hot tap and let it run for a bit, or boil some water and pour it onto the spoon. I could not imagine spitting into my icecream that’s vile. lol
Eeew no. I am not dumping hot tap water into my ice cream. Especially not with UK hot water. That is stored in a boiler. Seems like a bad idea.

I’d suggest a quick blast from the hot tap instead, but I honestly don’t know if that’s better.

Hot scooper for sure. Cut through the freezer burn. I’ll give you that. There’s minimal transfer of the hot water, though. Not just like.
