You could argue the money might be better spent investing in low carbon energy. Acting as an investment fund for companies and individuals that want to increase their solar capacity but don’t have the funds to do so. That way they’re helping to stop carbon getting into the atmosphere in the first place.
I agree that not putting carbon in the air is the best thing we can do
We should switch to public transit and shut down all new oil developments.
Planting trees is a proven way to capture carbon.
But there are thousands of methods of combatting climate change, this doesn’t get in the way of the other things.
It’s still false consciousness which satiates our appetite for change while not actually doing anything meaningful.
What is your suggestion then? If you know so much.
This is a method to to sequest carbon. We shouldn’t being doing the same things and expect different results, look were that got us today.
