I use the search “all” quite a lot. By searching the Reddit sub names I found their offspring up and running already in the Fediverse/Lemmy (HydroHomies, UKCasual, Solarpunk, etc). Searching by topic to find communities that aren’t necessarily Reddit dupes.
The “all” search takes a few seconds, so be patient. You will be richly rewarded!
