Apparently 110 mph trains are now running between STL and Chicago. Anybody taken this route recently? I wonder if there are plans to give the same treatment to the STL-KC route?

I think there was a huge infrastructure bill under, I wanna say, Obama that was supposed to make a bunch of these happen, but I’m not sure how many actually ended up being completed. I’ve enjoyed the few train rides I’ve been on and would love to try a high speed one day.

Relatives of mine did recently, flew into Chicago and then took the train down. They said it was a great experience. Around a 3+ hour ride. They were just in coach I believe but said that it’s not a big deal since you can actually get up and walk around, go to the dining car, etc., unlike a majority of the time you’d spend on a plane.

Been waiting for more high speed rail options for a long time, it’s good this one’s available. What I wouldn’t give for a hyperloop between here and Denver or something like that. To never have to drive all the way through Kansas again would be fantastic.

Haven’t rode it since the speed increase but it only cuts 30ish minutes off the trip. Progress is progress but we’re not anywhere near Japan or Europe still. Would love to see a KC-STL rail with true high speed
