Please create or suggest Communities for Lemmy.world. I’m considering making Community creation for admins only, but for now it’s open to everyone.
I’d like to make formuladank (F1 memes), 3DS/DS and PlayStation (general PS, there’s a specific PS5 one). Might bring in people from Reddit.
I tried to make a community but the final create button was unresponsive.
Joined! Would love to see this take off, this was my favorite sub on Reddit
Post some of your favorites. I wanted to bring people from Reddit but they banned me ¯_(ツ)_/¯
formula dank exists!
Hmm, I’ve seen that before. Did you upload a banner while creating? I have a feeling that might have an issue, try creating without banner and upload the banner later. (If that works, let me know so I can troubleshoot that)
Tried, no difference. This is Icearaven (FF fork just with addons so no real difference) on Android.
I also wanted to try in Bromite but I can’t even log in, it gets stuck.nvm my bad, wrong password. Should have an error message there instead of just spinning. And in the browser? (to rule out issues with the app itself)
Aha I know what the problem was. Lowercase only. The error popup informing about this doesn’t show up on FF, so I didn’t know that’s a requirement.
Ah! Nice.
Just created c/biblicalstudies@lemmy.world as I didn’t see one. Working on transferring academic resources over from r/academicbiblical
So I’m thinking some health related coms could be useful. I was thinking migraine because that’s what I’m familiar with, but I can’t see anything health related on any instance. So maybe something broad for starters, like just health?
I just created /c/hockey. /r/hockey on reddit is a big community, yet no hockey communities on Lemmy at all yet. I figured I might as well get the ball (or puck, I guess) rolling.
Ah, yes. Hockey is something we Dutch are good at. Not me though. I prefer playing pool.
Rolling pucks are difficult to handle
When creating a community, it would be nice if you also upload an icon and banner. Please make sure you don’t use copyrighted images but instead create your own or look for rights-free material.
Here’s a good resource to find images: https://unsplash.com/
Nice, thanks! (I use their wallpaper app on my Mac)
Suggestion for a Shattered Pixel Dungeon community
You can create communities yourself if you like!

Hi Ruud, I’m new to your instance and I tried to create a community. However after I filled up all the info and clicked “create”, the button just keeps rotating. I tried many times and it was all the same.
Is there any problem which prevents me from creating community? I noticed when I tried to create account from some other instances, if my account wasn’t approved, I couldn’t log in. The button kept rotating without any notice (similar to my problem here).
What name did you try to create? Did you also add images?
Hi Ruud, I did add the profile photo, also the name is in right format, as “self_healers_protocol” if I remembered correctly. I tried to create in other instance. It worked and it seemed that I shouldn’t have had the underscore _.
we lack a /c/mealtimevideos in lemmy (at least I couldn’t find one on any). That is, links to thought-provoking videos that are ~5-15 minutes long. Bite-sized videos just long enough to watch while you eat your lunch.
I would be very interested!
OK, I’d say: create it! :-)
When I try to subscribe to communitues of other servers, it shows “Pending”. What does that mean?
Good question. I will ask that to the Lemmy devs.
Anyone know if we can create communities with Memmy ? I’m new one and trying to learn !
I’d like to see a homebrewing community about brewing beer
Go ahead and create one!
A general woodworking community would be nice.
Would anyone be interested in a community for the inheritance cycle by Christopher paolini?
Why not a general Fantasy community, for more engagement?
Ooh that’s a good idea. Thanks.
Just created c/acnh , saw a general one on lemmy.ml, but not one specifically for Animal Crossing New Horizons. One for Animal Crossing New Leaf would be good too, but I’m not creating it as I don’t really play that one as often, but still putting that thought out there. Some version of the namenerds community on Lemmy, Data Hoarder (which might have an official one, so I’m waiting to see on that one), mental health communities, and specific ones for the different Pokemon games is what I use Reddit for already, so that’s all my suggestions.
