Great video thank god we have lemmy as an alternative
poor christian is obviously not getting much sleep lately. but, yeah, good video. I’m watching it now.
It is exciting being here feels like being at the start of something new that will be big
what it feels like is reddit 15 years ago.
everyone here seems much friendlier so far its great
well, it’s moderated differently, and there are more specific rules about behavior. although, I have encountered one troll already-- it was far less toxic that the ones I’ve met on reddit
Unfortunately I bet a lot of that difference comes from simply being smaller. I get that feel a lot on the smaller subreddits on Reddit itself. Time will tell, if Lemmy communities get as big as some of the giant subreddits I bet there’ll be some of the same feel.
Federating has an advantage here though; you can keep most of your communities local to your server and just spice them up with a few big federated ones. More work for the trolls to get everywhere.
