RE4 was definitely a pivot toward a more action based game than its predecessors. It’s probably my favorite but I still consider the RE2 remake a better game overall. Maybe a perfect game honestly.
When the remake game out, I beat it 5x in a row just to play each character first and second and then another time with infinite ammo or whatever it is that’s unlocked.
It’s a great game up until you get to the soldiers part and the following laboratory area. I got to trying to get around those ridiculously difficult flesh monster or whatever in the lab and just quit.
It was a wild pivot from the rest of the game that completely lost my interest.
I completely agree, those flesh monsters were a bit too difficult. I pushed through, but it was like they just wanted to make the game longer for the sake of being longer.
It was a good game, but near the end I was just ready for it to be over.
I’m in the camp of this being a bad resident evil game, but I still recognize it as a good game.
