That’s not better. I have old boxes and some electrical tape in my house. If this were my local bus stop, I could do this in 5-10 minutes at no cost to me.

I’d have to buy spray paint. I’d have to go somewhere to buy spray paint. That’s a lot more effort and time (and money). The box is a very clear response to the ad. Spray paint might be on the bus stop from any time, it doesn’t send the same signal. Also, it escalates things from a cheeky and fun prank to actual vandalism.

I think I disagree overall, but you have some good points and I appreciate that. Anyway… we’re on the same side.

I have some tins and cans of old paint from hard rubbish. Negative cost to me since it uses up the old paint so I no longer need to make a trip to council’s hazardous waste drop-off.

I can save my tape for other purposes and use my cardboard to stop weeds growing in my garden.

Damn I see this billboard all the time in Mitcham Melbourne, fantasized about having the time to do something like this.

Write “ad blocked by ublock origin” or something on it and I think we’d be onto something here.

yess… I too always remember to artfully leave the brand name visible when engaging in totally-not-guerilla-marketing on a meta-campaign by an advertising company.

edit: here we all are helping, too. sees 2nd raptor “clever girl…”
