Added DRM to a 2 year old title. Just confirmed the game wont launch for me. I assume I’d have to remove my REframework mods. I would never have dropped 1300 hours on MHRSB without the handful of QoL mods I use. Capcom is flirting with breaking my 15 year addiction right now.
Jesus christ, I recently reinstalled sunbreak after switching to linux and had to run it without mods a couple times before I added my mods back. It was night and day. No way I can play without mods now. This is a massive fuck up on capcom’s part.
update: mods aren’t broken. Update your reframework to the nightly build and they’ll work fine. Linux is broken though, so steamdeck users and linux users such as myself are fucked for now. Hopefully they fix that soon. Hilarious that their pitiful attempt at breaking mods didn’t even work and just damaged their reputation beyond anything mods could ever do.
Good looking sir. Fingers crossed the shit storm is loud enough to get Linux fixed up for you
I bought World, Iceborne, Rise and Sunbreak but I’m getting more and more inclined to pirate their games out of spite.
I’d do the same but I end up playing with friends and family so pirating is kind of out for me. I hope they unfuck themselves once Wilds is out but I don’t have high hopes. World wasn’t really a good port and there’s still bugs from launch present. Like lance can’t backwards hop if the camera is directly behind them.
If they continue this bullshit I’ll play 4 ultimate or generations ultimate with friends and not deal with this nonsense.
Situational, but some pirated copies of games come out with coop ability now. Rise is one. Its only on ver 13 though. So not the best experience, but at least you’re not screwed over for buying it.
scratch that. fitgirl has 16.0.0.2 with multiplayer now.
its really a shame, especially after the messaging about PC being their best market now.
Monster Hunter Modern Warfare (Lost Planet 2) has been mistreated as well by just being delisted with a vague “promise” it will be fixed.
I honestly love most of Capcom’s catalogue, but I can’t abide this anti-consumer behavior.
I was planning on buying Wilds on day one, but looks like that option’s out the window.
Funnily enough, the DRM Enigma is a lot worse at keeping pirates off than Denuvo, so future games can be cracked pretty easily.
