I see where you come from and you are right that creating these groups can be a tactic to take the wind out of the sail of antiimperialist tactics, but it works on other ways as well, see the antiglobalist movement at the end of the 90’s and early 00’s, where anarchists took the lead but were held back by statist - mostly succdem - people.
Never watched Beau luckily but saw how he turned out to be an asshat, same with Robert Evans and the Bellingcat “anarchists”.
