We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

I went to a concert on Saturday. The lead singer talked about being sober for the last seven years. After the show I made sure to tell him a lot of music, including his, has really helped me quit and stay off drinking. Seeing the care he put into the crowd wanting everyone to do well and there was a lot of compassion and love, it’s special. This guy I don’t know at all looked at me and said “We’re doing this together a day at a time”. It’s really sticking with me. We don’t have to know each other to be there for one another

The Taxpayers. They originated nearish to me (I’m in Seattle right now, they started in Portland). They stopped touring together for a while though and different members moved to different areas so I’m really glad I got to see them
