However, assuming that this isn’t implemented as a life-in stakes Battle Royale and instead as a sports event improved with Augmented Reality (all weapons are simulated, no real deaths); it could be a fun event to watch. I could see myself betting on athletic people.
I think the whole premise of the question is: trump somehow seized power and become the “supreme leader for life”, democracy is now dead, elections are a sham just like (russia/china/iran/your favorite autocratic nation), so this is exactly the kind of dystopian future where Hunger Games were set. He might be impeached but not removed as Democrats won’t control enough of the Senate to convict.
