From all the reports I’ve seen they were treated nicely, given the same food as the guards and the ones in critical condition were released. They can’t really help Israel killing hostages in airstrikes.

Edit: Rather than downvote read an actual account from one of the released hostages https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/24/middleeast/israel-hostages-freed-lifshitz-cooper-intl-hnk/index.html

She says she was beaten during the actual kidnapping, but after that the treatment was generous, with the same food as the guards and access to doctors and femenine hygiene products.

Could you share a link? I was going by the news I’ve seen.

You call me delusional but I’m the only one to link actual evidence.

The Reuters link mention no such claims, only that Hamas claimed it was due to an air strike.

The second link only has claims from the IDF, which still says she was initially wounded by an Israeli air strike before being murdered.

The third link mentions the hand loss by grenade yes, but they s was during the initial attack and capture, not while they were kept as hostages.

Honestly, some probably were treated humanely. Others, including men, were probably brutally raped and tortured. Hostages are still at the mercy of their kidnappers and all remaining hostages should come home safely.

Even though Sharia law requires hostage takers to be kind to hostages, it’s not necessarily true that everyone follows Sharia. Same reason we have corrupt cops and soldiers committing war crimes.

Those aren’t the policy laid out by the organization, but it’s still the responsibility of the organization to make sure it doesn’t happen.

The remaining hostages include Lifshitz and Cooper’s husbands, Oded Lifshitz, 83, and Amiram Cooper, 85.

I, too, would have only the best to say about my kidnappers if they still hold my husband hostage. How fucking naive and stupid can one be?

They can’t really help Israel killing hostages in airstrikes.

How about not fucking kidnapping people and taking them hostage? “Oh we can’t help if people die while we keep them imprisoned in our hospital fortress while we keep shooting thousands of rockets at Israel.” Fucking ridiculous
