When the Eternal September comes, which it will, how does a Lemmy instance deal with bad actors?
I’d argue that it very much was a part of the old Internet. Coming from the SomethingAwful forums, your posting reputation and even post count established you in the community. It felt like belonging to something in a way that reddit never really did.
To have that type of culture and connections, a consistent identity is necessarily. And sure, not everyone is looking for that, but there are a lot of people, myself included, who are looking for a kind of digital third place.
