Andrew Gosden disappeared from Central London on 14 September 2007 when he was aged 14. On that day, Gosden left his home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, withdrew £200 from his bank account and bought a one-way ticket to London from Doncaster station. He was last seen on CCTV leaving King’s Cross station. Despite numerous national appeals for information in the years following his disappearance, Gosden’s reason for travelling to London that day, and his subsequent fate, have not been established.

Andrew’s case is one of the cases I follow most closely. I’m very intrigued as to when we might hear more details about the December 2021 arrests and investigation.

What are your thoughts on what happened to Andrew?

I don’t think that he intended to vanish. From what I read (not familiar with the case), he took his wallet, PSP (no charger cause maybe it was easy for him to find one once there), and keys. Those things indicate to me that he was going to return home after his trip. Why take your keys if you’re not going to return home? Also, he left money at home, he didn’t take all of his money with him as one should have done.

Regarding the ticket, maybe he bought a one-way ticket cause he was planning to stay in London for a few days and then return. Based on what the parents said and only on that, Andrew seemed like your average teen who actually had friends and family in London so this theory can be supported.

The woman who was sitting next to him on the train said that he was immersed in his game. If you’re planning to do something like vanishing from the face of the Earth, you would feel anxious or something, you wouldn’t be playing games. Moreover, she didn’t notice anything unusual about him.

I also saw the footage that shows him at the station. He appears calm and all. Nothing struck me as weird.

I support what @john47 said that he had probably arranged to meet with an online friend as you can chat online on a PSP. Maybe that’s why he didn’t need/want a cell phone.

I think that whatever happened, happened after he got to his destination. Maybe he saw something he shouldn’t have, maybe it was a kidnapping gone wrong, maybe he was meeting with “friends or a friend” that he met online and he got catfished. His father described him as vulnerable, absent-minded, and not streetwise after all.

I do reckon that he got catfished by someone online. Maybe it was those two men who did it but the police can’t pin the crime on them due to lack of evidence.

Let’s be realistic here, unattended children are easy prey. The possibilities are endless as to what may have happened but I don’t think Andrew is still alive so we may never find out the truth.
