recent: tears of the kingdom, or as i like to call it botw 1.2, its the same thing all over again just with one or two added gimicks, the open world is dead, npcs are boring and nintendo just got away with it like that
not so recent: i cant stand persona 5, joker and his entourage are annoying teenagers, the time management is a horrible gameplay addition and the artstyle is just a visual overstimulation
with that being said,~~ plz dont kill me~~
I feel that TOTK is happier in some ways though, like the villages feel more populated at least after solving the crises.
The lack of object permanence is incredibly frustrating sometimes, it’s a shame as it’d be awesome if it supported more Factorio style gameplay too. This thread was good on the issues with TOTK - https://lemmy.ml/comment/524847
Overall it’s so fun to play though, like the boss fights are so well designed. It reminds me of Super Mario like that too, where it might not have a deep story or writing but it’s just fun to play.
