Looks so far out and unreal. What a fantastic shot of the milky way up there. One day I hope to see something like this in person. Where does one go to find this type of view?
You want somewhere super dark (which usually means remote).
This location was at the Hardscrabble campsite on White Rim road in Canyonlands National Park in Utah. There’s no significant sources of light for hundreds of miles in the direction I took this photo.
Its worth noting, your eyes will see a cloudy thing in the sky, but wont see the colors like this. My camera gathered light for several seconds to get that detail. Either way – its pretty awesome, and one of my favorite things to do.
You can use this site to find dark areas near you to go see stuff like this. I haven’t gotten a chance to make a trip for this yet unfortunately.
