Go take a look at r/shittyaskreddit. I don’t care who you are that shit is all comedy gold. Try to pull something like that here and admins ban you. The reply “circlejerk and satire” usually gets highly upvoted in threads where the question is “what do you not want to see on lemmy that was on reddit?”
Lemmy is great and all but this is a thing that I’m just the minority on. The anti-fun assholes hate it too much and like most things in life, the assholes appear to be getting their way, as usual.
Yeah this is a more uptight place than reddit. I was getting in arguments with a bunch of people who were horny to ban every fucking instance that they thought was impolite. I suspect some of them were spez-hired goons sent to undermine the new thing.
I do want more irreverence and stupid bullshit. That’s 80% of why I’m online.
