Let’s get some mod discussion going. Finally launched my first rocket early this year and have discovered the wonderful world of mods.

Personally, I’ve been playing a lot of seablock. For me, it is the best mod for doing it in small chunks. The lack of biters, the fact that I need to place landfill to start up a new area, it makes everything feel very intentional, I guess you could say. Versus normal factorio where expansion is the default.

Also have small SE and py saves going. SE only have the first few sciences and py only have basic power, so haven’t really explored deep at all into those.

    As overhaul mods:

    • Krastorio2 (technically, not finished. Only Intergalactic Transceiver missing)
    • Currently B&A, but I think it will take a long time to finish

Krastorio2 I recommend, even if I found the late game a bit tedious. B&A I see myself taking long rides in a train around the base while I decide where / how / what I will build next.

In both cases I jumped in as blind as possible discovering everything on the go

Heard a lot of good things about Krastorio2. Think I might start a save with that.

I agree with the going in blind, although Seablock I’ve given up a little on that, but will at least give something a solid try before reaching out when something isn’t working. SE it’s sort of impossible to go in blind with how popular it is. Impossible to interact with the community without seeing a bunch of posts. Pyanodon I’m still pretty much fully blind, and as a result, and as a result, even being at having stable power was an effort.

I’ve read good things about K2 + SE combined.

About going blind you’re right it’s quite not possible to go fully blind with many mods. What I meant was I try not to look beforehand what I will need or in some cases, what to build close to or reserve space for sometime later as the byproduct will be useful for xxx
