Axa is a Dutch company that is mostly known for making bicycle locks. Founded originally in the early 1900’s, the official name of the company is Axa Stenman Industries.

Yes, that’s the Stenman of ASSA fame. In 1962 the company was sold and became part of the Swedish August Stenman AB.

    Yeah. Only afterwards someone mentioned that retaining disc might come loose with help of a screwdriver. But that still would have been slightly destructive, this was more fun 😊

      I popped the retaining disc off of a cheap $2 Chinese disc detainer with a crescent wrench - It was held in by a snap ring.
