Where are you from? What got you into Emo music? What‘s your local scene like? Do you play in a band? Let‘s get to know each other!
Hi Manu and welcome! I’m from Poland and got really into emo couple years ago when I listened to Tiny Moving Parts for the first time (I don’t count the times when I was listening to Green Day as a teen). I was into metal and post-hardcore scene previously, but getting more into midwest emo changed the game for me. My top bands are before-mentioned TMP, sports., Micheal Cera Palin, Camp Cope, Foxing and Gulfer. I also love more of a math rock bands like TTNG, Hikes or Tangled Hair.
I do play in a band, we play midwest emo/math rock, but we don’t have any recordings and haven’t played any gigs yet (still looking for a vocalist…). Our local scene is almost inexistent - I don’t think any band plays in similar style that we do. There are some that come around the genre, but not exactly 1:1. Really hoping for this to change though, as it seems like there is an interest in this kind of music here basing on gigs that I’ve been to that are similar genre-wise and the amount of people that was there.
