      It’s already being stored at a big enough scale to be dangerous, because Occidental pumps CO2 into oil deposits to squeeze more oil out.

        There’s no way there’s enough CO2 being pumped into oil wells to matter nearly as much as burning the oil itself.

          I agree, but having that CO2 escape is still a big deal; it could suffocate people locally by displacing all the oxygen, and it’s just like any other CO2 once it mixes into the atmosphere.

            Oh definitely - they’re trying to build CO2 pipelines here in Iowa and if one of those ruptured it would basically just be a mass death event.

            It’s such a stupid idea. I don’t think it’s ever going to become something that happens on a truly large scale, but people will get hurt.
