Every time I try to access this community, ther’s some kind of problem with the server. If you have a look at the status page, it’s almost all orange/red. The problem aren’t DDoS attack since the server is behind Cloudflare protection. Admin/mods, why don’t you move this community to a different server instance? I’m not accusing anybody, I know that maintain a server can be a challenging sometimes, I just want to enjoy this community!

Please!

isn’t it time to move from lemmy.world?

Lemmy has severe performance problems with PostgreSQL. If anything, they could delete old data. But any server that tries to hold as much data as they have will be crashing on 0.18.4 code without modification. If you rush to new instances, you are going to find that they do not have older data!

Lemmy.ml was constantly crashing in late May and all of June - they used to be the instance with the most data. Some performance bug fixes have helped stabilize it, but it does not hold and distribute as much data as Lemmy.world now does.

Tip: Use a smartphone client or something else that caches data, lemmy-ui is not very efficient - and a smartphone client is likely to be more intelligent about caching data client-side.
