I’v worked in an office where fully half the developers were women. I’ve also worked at a company where two of the women had CS degrees but worked in QA because “nobody really wanted to hire me for development”. They were the first people I saw automate a QA pipeline.

It’s not that the majority of people who are into CS are men. It’s that it can be entirely too toxic an environment and push out the women.
