There’s no such thing as obligate carnivore. There’s no magic nutrients inside animals that can’t be synthesized using modern technology.
Most carnivores just need taurine, and maybe a few other enzymes. We mastered making those in the 90s once cats started getting sick from people feeding their cats only certain body parts of other animals.
Maybe that can be said for pets, but certainly not wild animals as they couldn’t access the lab mixed nutrients they need. As such, Great whites are, they are not adapted to plant diets at all
I’m sure they could be if anyone put any time into it But as of yet, yes, all sharks eat others. Maybe someday in the future we’ll figure out a way to end suffering in the wild.
When you said “there’s no such thing…” I assumed you have focused on IRL and replied the same. As I said anniversary, I’m completely understand if the rules of the cartoon world depicted
Ripped from dukduckgo who inturn took it from ‘The American Heritage® Dictionary’
Obligate (Adjective): Able to exist or survive only in a particular environment or by assuming a particular role.
So an obligate carnivore is a being that can only survive in an environment where they are provided meat. The definition of obligate doesn’t state the the environment has to be naturally occurring, and I think that’s a semantic that isn’t discussed.
A great white is a obligate carnivore in naturally occurring environments same as a cat/hawk/lizard etc. But when humans take anything out of its naturally occurring environment (cause we’re smart cookies) we can keep it alive and healthy by giving it all the nutrients it needs, and said nutrients be derived from vegan sources.
I think that’s what they’re refering to as “no such thing” as an obligate carnivore. We can create non-natural environments where a carnivore no longer needs to be one.
I don’t get why people insist that their pets require meat. Go talk tuha a vet and get a vegan diet for your cat/dog/bird, people are so fuckin weird about some stuff.

Well since we’re sharing opinions, I think wild animals should live as they are evolved with the idealized minimum of human influence on their lives.
I mean the sharks in this are reading books and playing ball. I’d say it’s fair to say that they probably have access to lab mixed nutrients

Edit oh different person

Right, as I said above, in a natural environment (wild) they would need their natural adapted carnivorous diet.
In our world, I don’t think anyone has tried to give a shark a vegan diet. They’re definitely all in the wild.
So, so far, they’re all carnivores. Yes. The Wild is a pretty fucked up place.

Ah so you’re one of the pet-killers. Gotcha. Tagged as such.
I don’t think you know how to read. I was the one advocating for not killing animals. I think you are the one that is.
Maybe once you untangle your brain you will understand basic reasoning.
Definitely a pet killer.
Good job with the mental gymnastics while your pets die of protein deficiency.
