my silent generation aunts and uncles from northern arizona who entered my family through marriage were probably the last of the arizonans to speak this kind of spanish and i never realized it until i recognized the accent and the words in this video. i grew up using some of those words that the children in this video did due to my aunts’/uncles’ influence in my life when i was very young and i remember getting playfully bullied by my mexican cousins for using some of those words; queque & cuques in my case because i was a fat kid w a sweet tooth. lol
i had completely forgotten about all of this until the accent dredged these memories up from some forgotten part of my childhood; i’m so glad you shared it and thanks for the surprise trip down memory lane.
