At the time the N.O. Mayor’s office was arguing that it was not a terrorist attack. The FBI is now looking into it as a terror attack. Things change. It happens.
EDIT: Sorry, busy morning and got it turned around. Mayor’s office said it wasn’t terrorism, FBI said it wasn’t but has since changed their tune.
The FBI special agent in charge said on a live broadcast a couple of hours ago that it was not terrorism. Maybe she misspoke. Maybe they realized the PR nightmare of that choice. But it is certainly not misinformation
Not really. They might have been hesitant to label it as terrorism to prevent a panic. It’s not uncommon for law enforcement to withold details of an ongoing investigation for such reasons, or to not tip off co-conspirators that they’re on to them.
Shocker that when big, horrendous events happen that it’s all chaos and people not knowing what’s happening for hours and hours afterwards.
~~
You know, not everything is a big fucking conspiracy. Sometimes its just different groups operating on different levels of available information and on different opinions on said information in the immediate aftermath of a horrific disaster… I doubt the New Orleans mayor spends a ton of time working with the FBI, a completely separate organization.~~
Nobody knew what the fuck was happening in the first hours after 9/11 either, so much so that they changed laws about information sharing between organizations due to the lack of clear communications at the time, which only ever sort of helped.

The fact that PR might play into whether a specific attack is terrorism or not undermines the whole concept.

Other way around, Mayor always said it was terror, FBI originally said it wasn’t. Well, one person from the FBI anyway.
The headline in your image “unclearly” states exactly that. FBI declares “not terrorism, -contradicting- Mayors statement”.
You’re right. My mistake.

The BBC was working off an incorret Reuters report when they made the report and I don’t expect a foreign news correspondent to be super familiar with which building WTC 7 actually was. Mistakes and miscommunications happen.I take it all back, it’s because the guy is fucking Muslim. I guess the War on Terror never ended.
I think he was also flying an isis flag.
