You’re allowed to vote if it’s convenient to do so, but unless you’re unironically a Chulthu for President supporter, you’re not ever going to address the root cause of the problem (capitalism) through electoralism
The two options are to work for the longterm so that things get better or to NOT work for the longterm and ensure things get worse no matter what.
You are currently choosing the option of guaranteeing that things get worse. You even seem to know this is the case as you didn’t refute it, so why is it that you can’t seem to commit to working for making things better longterm? Is it like some sort of denial thing or what?
Vote for whoever you genuinely want to. The point of this meme is that voting for the lesser evil consistently results in greater evil, hence the whole “most important election of our lives!” Bit.
This does not mean the answer is to vote for the greater evil or to not vote, this does mean that the answer lies outside the realm of electoralism.
Reform does not work. You cannot convince the ruling class to simply stop acting in their class interests. Instead, organize, and build up dual power. When Revolution comes, and it will come, this is the way to make sure fascism doesn’t take root.
I’m surprised it took this long to get a competent reply. I understand this. I’m engaged in mutual aid work and education within my community, and while voting isn’t going to solve anything by itself, it’s still a tool of political action that should be utilized. Less evil will ALWAYS be better than more evil, but because I made a quip highlighting a disengenuous ommission instead of a thesis …
Has anyone here argued for voting for the greater evil? You didn’t comment a “gotcha,” the point of this meme is to highlight a problem with the liberal “solution” of continuous right-wing sliding. Voting for the greater evil is irrelevant, and not voting doesn’t change the dynamic, the point is that none of the choices within the framework of electoralism solve the underlying problems to begin with.
We were all already saying this. The danger in your top-level comment is that it legitimizes electoralism as a solution, when it is at best a band-aid.
Even the original post you claim has a disingenuous omission doesn’t say “keep voting for the right so we can descend into fascism even faster”
Cool now do voting for the greater evil or not voting at all!
Everything keeps getting worse, but at least I am an active participant in making it so!
Team evil wins, but I can feel like I was a part of Team Evil with my performative support gesture.
You somehow successfully fused and and into a single post.
Congratulations! You’re the most insufferably smug liberal of the day!
Good job giving legitimacy to literal evil by voting, knowing that both options are evil, real big brain shit. Electoralism is a brain disease
Imagine being so house-trained that you can look at the OP, agree with it, and then continue to say that lesser-evilism is good.

Do you understand what evil means?

You are a disgrace to the suffix “.ml”
