    I was expecting this car to open a Pandora’s box in the auto industry and force tighter regulation of safety standards. Considering how this thing violates the 100 year long gentleman’s agreement of companies improving safety on their own.

    I’m not sure why I’m surprised nothing happened. Can’t expect too much from Dem cabinets I guess.

      I agree that it’s the right thing to do but it would probably be costly and widely unpopular to increase safety standards on the road. It’s not worth it to miss out on combating the rise of fascism by losing elections after implementing long-term improvements that enrage people in the short term.

      Yes, this is a downside to the two-party representative democracy.
