      Having a kodi box that has all the apps that I would have on roku with a nice ui would be the dream. I’ve never gotten kodi to a point where my wife could install a Hulu app(for example) if she wanted to watch hulu. The YouTube experience was also terrible. Kodi fits my ideals for “open platform” and doesn’t for my “I don’t want to be doing IT for my family”

        Good to know. I definitely want my wife to be able to use it, but I don’t think she will be wanting to install apps.

        EDIT After doing a little research, it seems Streamio might be more what I am looking for.

          How does Stremio sustain it’s development operations?

          We run non-intrusive ads occassionally, but we’re considering moving to a donation model.

      That’s a very good choice too if you’re fine with some tinkering. Dolby Vision on the shield is what had me considering the Shield, but I read something about proper Dolby Vision support in the new release of Kodi (can’t confirm).
