I’m no fan of Wagner, but I’m sure they’re at least somewhat more experienced than a bunch of random civilians, although I see your point. I remember actually a decent number of people volunteering to go to Ukraine at the start of the war to assist on their side though (presumably people with military background), which is similar in concept - I wonder how that worked out, I never really heard any more about it.
