Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, when I was like 8. Was all fun and games until they ripped that slaves heart out and dunked it into the lava, or something to that extent. It’s been a while since I last watched it, the details are a bit hazy.

But the company doesn’t have the money. Stock value means investor valuation, not company funds.
Once a company goes public for the very first time, it’s getting money into its account, but from then on forward, that’s just investors speculating and hoping on a nice return when they sell again.
Of course there should be some correlation between the company’s profitability and the stock price, so ideally they do have quite some money, but in an investment craze like this, the correlation is far from 1:1. So whether they can still afford to build the data centers remains to be seen.
I’m using a browser setup hardened against fingerprinting, block all known trackers, and cookies are barred from cross-site activity.
Might not be impossible to track me regardless, but at least I’m not giving them everything with a chef’s kiss on top.
From ugly to useless and ugly. Nice.
Blocking instances works with the OG Lemmy, but they didn’t build the function into the app, you’d have to go through the website (that one time only).
Or can you block all users of a specific instance with Voyager?
Disappointed, but not surprised.
Putin wouldn’t have come if that wasn’t clear from the onset.
I’ve tested kagi and agree that the search results are great. What I don’t like is that it’s making anonymous searching impossible, since I have to be logged in to use it (or use my unique token as part of the url for mobile searches).
Ultimately this means to me that in a private window mode (or even logged out with a fingerprinting resistant browser) I do not have the same degree of anonymity I enjoy even when using Google, let alone DDG or others.
I like the idea of not being dependent on google, but exposing my entire search history to one single entity is not my answer of choice.
Mika Heppaten sounds like your average Finnish name.
Hm, what’s the big deal? I moved from Europe to South East Asia and have 32C and 90% humidity pretty much all year around and love it.
The same crap is going around Instagram and other social media pages. Often when you check out the profiles, they have some link obscured via url shortener that resolves to some random porn site or flat out scam page.
They try to comment first to get upvotes I guess.
Uh… And how would they do that?
It’s not like starlink publishes a list of all their customers, and you can’t simply pick up the signal.
And shooting down satellites in a geospatial orbit? Good luck.
That’s pretty neat, well done!
Got my hands on the new Powerwolf album (wake up the wicked), and it’s great.
Yeah that’s what I heard, especially for longer flights that’s super annoying. And the 25s can at least still play mono sound even with dead batteries, I heard that the newer models are simply dead.
On my 25s the left speaker died after 5 years, I contacted Amazon and they swapped them out for a new one, no questions asked, way out of warranty. That was pretty awesome, and the ear pads are cheap and easy to swap out.
I’ll ride them to the end and then see what happens after…
Noise canceling headphones. I swear by the Bose Quiet Comfort series. Personally I still have the 25 model (with a third party Bluetooth dongle), that way when the battery dies I can simply swap it out, takes simple AAA ones.
Else I’d recommend to bring slippers to wear during the flight. Feet tend to swell up a bit, so wearing shoes is uncomfortable, and walking in socks as many people do is not exactly hygienic, especially in the bathroom (seriously, who does that???).
I’m also freezing easily, so I’ll bring a thin scarf to protect my neck from the long exposure to low temperatures.
Lastly, have a set of fresh underwear, t-shirt and wet towels in your hand luggage, along with a toothbrush & paste and deodorant (make sure the volume is hand luggage capable). Then about 1.5h before landing, lock yourself in a bathroom (ideally the ones in the middle, they are a bit more spacious), strip naked, give yourself a through wash, change of clothes etc., and land arrive somewhat refreshed.
This is fucked up and you need to get out of that relationship ASAP. LSD and meth just to get through work? That’s insane. At 21, you leaving him might be the wakeup call he needs. But if you stay with him, your own sanity plus most likely future are on the line. Save yourself.
I quite like it, and the price point compared to the regular model is a steal.
What I don’t like is that shipping & cost to my neck of the woods amounts to over $80, that’s way too steep. I’ll be better off waiting until a local retailer stocks it.
And that’s the reason why I don’t use it, I need specific websites that access my local time, and apparently whitelisting is not a thing.
Not everyone who smokes gets COPD. Just like not everyone gets lung cancer.
It’s just that you don’t know beforehand if you’ll end up as one of the lucky ones totally unaffected, so why gamble with your life?
Thanks, I remember now. I’ve actually watched the movie when I was a fair bit older, but that must have been some 20 years ago now as well. Guess it’s really time for a rewatch!
