Having said that, if geo engineering is successful, it will be abused immediately to just continue polluting. Calling it now that politicians will spin this as a great thing, totally not so that their rich donors can continue to abuse the planet.

Also, in the beginning it won’t be successful. It will fail as politicians won’t allow the required investments and push for shortcuts and buddy buddy kickbacks from friendly companies, overriding scienctists and engineers in the process. That will become a scandal, them the politicians will do a mea culpa, and continue the same shit on a lower level whilst everyone ignores that large corporations yet again fucked over the world for profit.

Engineers and scientists will then pick up from there and manage to do the impossible and little bu little, progress will be made. Loads of profits will be made too, that’s always the main goal, but humanity still might be salvageable
