Isn’t .ee is one of the only big instances that federates with hexbear?

Russia’s decision to abstain in that vote happened under the notoriously “liberal” Medvedev and was a point of heated disagreement between him and Putin. It was arguably the breaking point for Putin deciding he needed to hold onto power indefinitely or else (in his view) a liberal president would let NATO do whatever they want, with Russia presumably being next on the chopping block
Are you referring to the intervention in Libya? The one that happened in 2011?
this is an ancient and noble practice known as shitposting, no need to call it something else :)
imo redditors and 4channers think too highly of themselves if they believe they have real influence on elections. Most people aren’t online (except for Facebook), and politics are much more readily explained by material causes such as the Dems fcking up the post 2008 economic recovery and going for austerity instead of investment. The biggest proximate cause (non-material/economic) is just that hilldawg ran a bad campaign that didn’t focus enough on swing states (but she won the popular vote, congratulations).

They give you two types of machines for free. One is x86 (AMD) based with a 2ghz cpu and 1gb ram. The beefier machine (the one with 24gb ram) is ARM based. Besides hardware, the main benefit for me over google is the traffic limit, 10tb per month instead of 1gb per day.

Question from a late millennial, how real/popular were those Elsa spiderman YouTube brainrot videos that were a mini moral panic a few years back? I was never sure how much of it was consumed by bots as opposed to real children
If you’re a cheapskate like me, oracle cloud’s free vps tier is the most generous I’ve seen of any provider. I suspect it’s because their other services are subpar so they gotta raise market share somehow.
yes, that’s why I put it in quotes. However given the diversity of culture and language there’s still going to be slurs that the predominantly English speaking mods will not be aware of, so users should be able to set their own filters.

If it’s not for you you can just block it
Imo the flaw of both the op and this comment is it almost completely leaves out the reasons why it is “young”. Were the people who created the “new” culture settling on pristine virgin land? What could possibly have happened to the existing people who bore the “old” culture? Hmm
spoiler: the answer is that anglo saxon protestants were convinced of their superiority and almost uniquely violent, with few qualms about outright massacring and displacing natives. At least the spanish speaking catholics in south america intermarried and assimilated somewhat
Op’s take is not reasonable imo- if you think threats are harmful enough to prosecute they should also be harmful enough to censor.
Maybe a more soft form of censorship, such as hiding them behind a cw and a “user was vanned for this post” label rather than outright removal, but you can’t just do nothing.
My personal opinion is that for “edge cases” like cisgender, I should be the one who decides what “slurs” I see or don’t see on the feed, rather than some shmuck twitter mod who watched a YouTube video or whatever.
The thing is, I dislike censorship in general. Corporate or government. Yes it’s the corp’s prerogative, but we’re allowed to criticize corporate censorship and hypocrisy regarding censorship.
I don’t get why people defend censorship by powerful/monopolistic companies run by billionaires while criticizing censorship by the government. They’re not that different.
I’m sure we could think of a few. Notch was some random slob who made Minecraft. Jk Rowling just wrote some mediocre books at an opportune moment, but neither of her parents went to college.
Shout-out to the original homeworld manual
Yeah I think the admins of hexbear like sunaurus (owner of .ee) which has let us stay federated despite the general population of .ee being hostile. At least now it’s easier for users to block instances individually
I’m kind of a lib temperamentally and hexbear’s emoji heavy posting style grates on my nerves with too high exposure, but I do try to debunk the flat out lies people say spout on .world and such
